Questions are rising about safety on the International Space Station. Much of the worry focuses on ongoing cracks and air leaks in a tunnel section of the ISS that connects to a docking port. While Russian partners and the U.S. disagree about whether it’s a major safety issue, SpaceNews reported that NASA has raised concerns about “the possibility of a catastrophic failure.”
Katy Perry, Gayle King Launch On Blue Origin Rocket

Singer Katy Perry and journalist Gayle King were part of a six-woman crew launched into space from West Texas Monday. They trip came aboard a rocket built by Blue Origin, owned by Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos. Also on board were Bezo’s fiance Lauren Sanchez: former NASA engineer Aisha Bowe; Amanda Nguyen, a scientist and advocate for sexual violence survivors; and film producer Kerianne Flynn. The 10-minute flight took the women up to more than 340,000 feet, considered to be just past the edge of space. The weather was perfect, too.
