Northern Lights Sky Brightened By NASA Rocket Launch

This is a spectacular side-by-side scene, the natural wonder of the northern lights superimposed by the bright flash of a NASA rocket. Scientists launched the rocket in hopes of better understanding some of the effects of auroras on the Earth’s atmosphere.
