NASA Launches, Lands Inflatable ‘Flying Saucer’

NASA’s Low-Earth Orbit Flight Test of an Inflatable Decelerator, or LOFTID, is used for atmospheric re-entry and could one day land heavy equipment on Mars when human crews fly to the Red Planet.
